Make a Plan to Vote
If you’re voting in-person…
- Figure out where your polling location is, and if you’ve recently moved, make sure to update your voter registration information to get your new polling place.
- Confirm what time you’ll vote and how you’ll get there. In Pennsylvania, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line at or before 8 p.m. (when polls close), you will be allowed to cast your vote.
- Think about what you’ll need to bring to the polls. When voting at a polling place for the first time, you must show proof of identification. That can be a driver’s license, passport, student ID, or utility bill.
If you’re voting by mail-in ballot…
- Make sure to apply for your mail-in ballot early and to return it before election day. You can mail it in or deliver your ballot to the Lancaster County Board of Elections office.
- All registered PA voters can cast their ballot by mail – apply online today! Applications are available in multiple languages.
- You do not need an excuse to apply for a mail-in ballot.
